General
•  Large granulated lymphocyte leukemia is a rare, lymphoproliferative disorder
   of T cells which are large and display cytoplasmic granules.
•  Two types: cytotoxic and natural killer (NK) cell.

Clinical Features
•  Usually occurs in late middle age.
•  Symptoms mostly related to severe neutropenia (recurrent infections are
   common).
•  Long survival.

Morphology
Blood
•  Proliferation of large lymphocytes with abundant, clear cytoplasm and
   cytoplasmic granules (may look like Downey II lymphocytes).

Bone marrow
•  Same as blood.

Laboratory Findings
•  Modest increase in WBC.
•  Neutropenia - may be severe.
