A little about me: I grew up in Circle Pines, Minnesota, and went to Smith College where I majored in Russian civilization with a minor in international relations. I went to UMD for two years, and then to UM-Mpls for third and fourth year (I graduated in 1995). I did a post-sophomore fellowship in pathology in Duluth after my second year of med school. I did my pathology residency at the U in Minneapolis, where I did a combined anatomic and clinical pathology program, with fellowships in hematopathology and molecular pathology.
I've been teaching at UMD since 1993, when I started lecturing for one hour each year (long story - ask me some time how I got myself into that one). One hour turned into two, then 5, then pretty soon after residency I became full-time. I love it here so much, I just never left! I teach both here and down at the main U, at the Dental School there. I'm up here Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Wednesday, and down at the U the other days. When I'm here, you can find me in my office (333), or if it's lunchtime, in Dina's office (left)!
I'd be happy to talk about  any questions you may have about medical school, the post-sophomore pathology fellowship, residency, pathology as a career, life, whatever. You can email me, or stop by my office at 333 Med.
