The WHO (World Health Organization) Classification of Lymphoid Neoplasms is the latest and greatest classification. It is the one to which you should refer in the future when you get a patient who has lymphoma or leukemia. It's pretty much the same thing as the REAL classification, with a few minor additions. In our course, we will only be discussing the major types of NHL (these are linked to their appropriate pages below).
B-cell neoplasms
Precursor B-cell neoplasm
Mature (peripheral) B-cell neoplasms
• Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma
• Splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (+/- villous lymphocytes)
• Mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma
• Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma
• Primary effusion lymphoma
T-Cell and Natural Killer Cell Neoplasms
Precursor T cell neoplasm
Mature (peripheral) T cell and NK-cell neoplasms
• Aggressive NK Cell leukemia
• Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type
• Enteropathy-type T-cell lymphoma
• Hepatosplenic gamma-delta T-cell lymphoma
• Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma
• Primary Cutaneous Anaplastic large cell lymphoma T/null cell
• Peripheral T cell lymphoma, unspecified
• Angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma
• Primary Systemic Anaplastic large cell lymphoma, T/null cell
